If you like the middle nowhere you will love Friend Park. We were the only ones in there the two nights we stayed. Good for tents or small trailers, not sure a big trailer would make it back in there. Primative camping as to be expected at a Forest Service campground. Connector trail off the back of the campground to the Laramie Peak trail.
Very nice campsite. The drive in was what made it the best. 2 hrs on a gravel road with beautiful views of the open range and the mountains.
Peace and quiet. Water and toilets are there but nothing else. Just the mountains and the trees.
It's in a beautiful and rather isolated part of Southeast Wyoming. Fees are reasonable, and the campground is clean but rustic. The trailhead up Laramie Peak is just a few yards away, so it's very handy for hikers as well.
